Akim - whose real name is Jim Rank - grew up in an African jungle to become Son of the Jungle. He encounters numerous obstacles such as ferocious beasts, unfriendly tribes, and white villains. Some of the time Akim has a young woman named Rita and a teenage protegé named Jim at his side, and he is usually accompanied by various animals such as Kar (gorilla), Zig (monkey), Baroi (elephant), Rag (lion), and Mol (eagle).
Obviously, Akim is a spinoff from the Tarzan series with the possible difference that Akim maintains a more boyish look throughout the series.
