Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY
The series premiered in 1940. Stopped in 1951 after 57 issues*.

The series contains a mixture of stories featuring several lesser and better known superheroes especially from the Justice Society.

* A second run was published from 1976 to 1978 (17 issues) and titled All-Star Comics (with a hyphen).
