MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1942*. Stopped in 1960 after 113 issues**.

The stories take place in the fictitious American town of Riverdale and the focus is on the lively high school student Archibald 'Archie' Andrews and his many friends.

* The title character was introduced in 1941 by another publisher. ** From #70 the series was simply titled Archie.

Since the start the publisher has launched numerous similarly titled series, of which the main series Archie is ongoing.
