MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1963.

The main character in this colossal Wild West epos is Michael Steven Donovan better known under his nickname of Blueberry. He is a righteous and heroic figure who is often hurled into complicated and bloody events sometimes accompanied by his sidekick Jimmy McClure, a hard-drinking deputy.
The story runs over a long span of time starting with Blueberry's time as a participant in the American Civil War on the side of the North. Later he joins the army and advances to the rank of Lieutenant, but after he is kicked out on false accusations he drifts around helping people in need. Especially the Indians have a great place in his heart.
