MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1928. The series stopped in 1967 but has been revived several times since.

Buck Rogers was the first comic book series to introduce the stereotypical science fiction elements such as interstellar voyages, advanced rocketships, and more or less human races on other planets. The star of the series is Rogers who, in 1927, is exposed to a gas that renders him sleeping until the year 2419(!). From then on he takes up fighting criminal elements on Earth and in Space.
Most of the time Rogers is accompanied by the beautiful and strong-willed Wilma Deering, whom he originally saved from ruthless slave drivers.

The series' full title is Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. Initially, the title was Armageddon 2419 AD and it starred Anthony Rogers, but both title and first name were soon changed.
