The strips depict a daydreamer oddly known as Caligula, who dreams of great and often heroic feats that always ends in a realistic and surprising scene. There are always 4 strips, of which the first 3 are dreamt up, while the last one shows what Caligula was really doing.

The full title of the series is Caligula Dagdrømmeren (The Daydreamer in English).
