MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1951. Stopped in 1957 after 44 issues*.

The series consists of heroic war tales primarily describing US soldiers fighting in the Korean conflict. The starring character is Michael Lee 'Combat' Kelly, who went from being a successful boxer to being an efficient commando soldier.

*  The series was continued as Combat Kelly and the Deadly Dozen from 1972 to 1973 (additional 9 issues) featuring Kelly fighting in World War 2.
