The series premiered in 2009. Stopped in 2010 after 8 issues.

The series is loosely based on the Die Hard action film series that started in 1988, but it describes events and actions involving the intrepid starring character John McClane, before he got part of the films. At that time he was a rookie police officer with badge #788.

The full title of the series is Die Hard Year One.
