The series premiered in 1962. Stopped in 1969 after 27 issues.

The starring character is a physicist named Raymond Solar. After having been subjected to a massive amount of radiation he gains atomic power enabling him to manipulate matters and blast bolts of energy. Also, he has heightened senses and the power to fly. As a superhero - dressed in a fitting costume -  he uses all his newfound abilities to battle villains and aliens.

The series' full title is Doctor Solar Man of the Atom.
