MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1974*. Stopped in 1987 after 81 issues, but has been revived several times since then.

The starring character is Stephen Strange, who was once a neurosurgeon, but he smashed his hands in a car accident rendering him unable to continue his line of work. After a trip to the mystic monks in the Himalayas, Strange gains extended magical powers, which he uses against criminals.
