* The series has had several more artists through the years. Some of them emerged with the introduction of the main character's two newer alter egos besides the initial Lazarus Lane: On Rafael Sandoval (Gerard Jones (scripts) and Mike Parobeck (graphics)), and on Chato Santana (Jai Nitz (script) and Phil Hester and Ande Parks (graphics)).

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1970. Stopped in 1991.

The main character's name is Lazarus Lane (known as El Diablo (Spanish for The Devil)), who fights evil in the Wild West. He is some sort of a semi-superhero; once he was struck by lightning which initially rendered him in a coma, but whenever trouble is brewing he rises from his wheelchair to engage in battle, and he dresses in his Zorro-like costume and mask in order to disguise his true identity.
