MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1948. Stopped in 1988.

This is perhaps the most popular humour strip in Denmark despite its unusual environment. We follow a possibly widowed, nameless father who tries to raise his four children (the series' title translates to Father of Four): The older, nameless sister called Søs (Danish abbreviation for Sister), the teenage twins Ole and Mie, and the latecomer Per affectionately called Lille Per (Little Per). The latter functions as the fun guy who manages most of the punchlines that are either social commentaries or subtle and clever conversation pieces.
The series has no action scenes at all; it is totally focussed on Per's innocence in behaviour and remarks thus making it an intelligent situation comedy.

The cozy family strip has sparked numerous films and new ones still premiere.
