Name: DC (American comics corporation).
Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

Comments: The corporation's logo changed several times over the years. The selected one ran from 1976 to 2005.

 

 

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 2004*. Stopped in 2006 after 22 issues, but the series has been revived in mini series several times since then.

The starring character is Jason Rusch, a teenager from Detroit, who happened to find the Firestorm matrix that was left behind by one of the original Firestorm characters, Ronnie Raymond*. Now Rusch takes over the powers and abilities of Firestorm, which include transmuting objects and shapeshifting through nuclear power.

* The series premiered in 1978 (5 issues) starring Ronnie Raymond, who was later killed, and Martin Stein.
