MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1965, but Crumb had finished the stories (there were more but they have been lost) already in 1959 for his own amusement. Stopped in 1972.

This is a so-called underground comix meaning that the stories take up usually banned subjects such as drinking and sex.
The character of Fritz is really a human in disguise. He is also an anti-establishment troublemaker and a persistent womanizer. As Crumb puts it: He is a sophisticated, up-to-the-minute young feline college student who lives in a modern 'supercity' of millions of animals ... yes, not unlike people in their manners and morals...
