MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1960. Stopped in 1965 after 23 issues.

The starring character is a giant sea monster named Gorgo (after the Gorgons in Greek mythology), that is sighted off the Irish coast and brought to London, England, to be featured as a circus attraction. Later on, it escapes to the east coast of the USA from where it begins helping mankind battle sinister forces.

The series is loosely based upon the British monster film Gorgo from 1961 (see also Konga).
