MAIN STORY
The series premiered in 1941. Despite having been terminated several times (officially in 1978) the series is still sporadically revived.

The series was one of more similar that emerged after Batman in 1939. Batman and his young helper Robin are masked crime-fighters without supernatural powers just as Green Arrow and Speedy in this series.
The two main characters are dedicated masked archers in Robin Hood-like costumes working under their secret identities, but when out of uniform they are known to the public as playboy millionaire Oliver Queen and his ward Roy Harper.
Their weaponry is quite inventive; they carry all sorts of special arrows for every imaginable contingency; net arrows, glue arrows, spy camera arrows, lasso arrows, boxing glove arrows, boomerang arrows...
