MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1935. Stopped in 1958.

Hanne Hansen (a common name in Denmark) is a fragile housemaid from the time when all 'fine' households had servants. Hansen is a hardworking and romantic young woman, who always manages to see the bright sides of life. She is employed by Mrs. Olsen, and in love with Brille. When the series came to an end, the newspaper's readers were asked if she should marry Brille and start a life of her own. 'Permission' was granted...

The series was stopped because of the simple fact that it had become outdated, as maids were no longer in demand in real life.
