MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1954, but the characters of Hi and Lois actually performed as Bailey's sister and brother-in-law in Beetle Bailey earlier that year.

This is the story about a typical American family living in the suburbs. The family consists of Hiram Flagston and Lois (maiden name Bailey) and their four children; a rather sluggish teenager, a pair of lively twins, and a baby girl who likes to untidy things.
The series has a number of more periferic characters such as the family dog named Dawg, Hi's boss Mr. Footram, the family's neighbours Irma and 'Thirsty' Thurston, and the garbage collectors Abercrombie and Fitch.
