MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1950. Stopped in 1956 after 38 issues.

The title character, Howdy Doody, is portrayed as a boy puppet without strings, and we follow his eventful life with his friends. The series has a vast gallery of supporting characters such as Bluster, Clarabell, Dilly Dally, Flup-a-Dub, Ikky, and Joe.

The series is a spinoff from a TV series that ran from 1947 to 1960.
