MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1991*. Stopped in 1992 after 6 issues.

The colossal - and well known - monster ape in this series is loosely based on the 1932 novel by the same title rather than the 1933 film that has become herostratically famous. Still, the main plots are fairly intact; Kong battles unending hordes of menacing animals on his island, he is attracted to a helpless girl, and he is transported to New York City in the end.

* The character was first introduced in comic books from 1967, but always in shortlived series, and this was also true for new series following the one on this page.
