This is the ongoing story of a wandering knight in the 11th century Europe, Sir Aymar de Bois-Maury, who tries to reclaim his ancestral home. The albums have impressive epic and rather realistic qualities, although the overall subject 'prescribes' an abundance of violent and deadly scenes. Still, Hermann manages to also include human feelings and considerations.

The title Les Tours de Bois-Maury means The Towers of Maury Forest in English, but some of the series is also published as simply Bois-Maury.
