MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1956.

The title character is a live metal stick man living with inventor Gyro Gearloose. His origin is unknown, and he has never received a proper name, so he is widely accepted as Little Helper based on the fact that he most often helps Gearloose out of trouble, but he is also an accomplished inventor in his own right. Oddly, Gearloose hardly ever notices his helper's existence.

The stories were/are written by an overwhelming number of artists. Examples: Carl Barks (1901-2000), Abramo Barosso (1931-2013), Ivan Saidenberg (1940-2009), Jan Kruse (1946-), Nino Russo (1960-), Frank Jonker (1965-).
