MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1952. Stopped in 1959.

The starring character is a small, native Indian boy, who lives in a tent village, in which his father, Big Chief, is the tribe leader. Hiawatha, who mainly sees himself as a great warrior, is curious in his approach to life and impulsive in his actions, but he always manages to overcome the, often, self-inflicted hardships. Hiawatha's worst rival in dealing with problems tends to be his sister, Sunflower, who occasionally outsmarts him without resorting to teasing. In fact, she sometimes helps him out of trouble.

The stories were/are written by several artists. Examples: Chase Craig (1910-2001), Carl Robert Fallberg (1915-1996), Bob Bartholomew (1917-?), Del G. Connell (1918-2011), Joel Katz (1945-), Ruud Straatman (1948-).
