The title character is a brilliant French racing car driver primarily for the Formula One teams. Vaillant's time is divided between breathtaking competitions and fighting off villainous persons who aim to bring him and his crew down.
The series - which now spans 5 decades - often carries references to real life features such as drivers Prost, Senna, Schumacher and Stewart, and teams such as Benetton, Ferrari, MacLaren and Williams.
