Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY
The series premiered in 1954. Stopped in 1978 after 181 issues.

The series contains a mixture of stories featuring diverse American soldiers fighting in World War 2. In some of the issues Cpt. Hunter, Cpt. Storm, Gunner & Sarge, and more, are recurring characters.
