MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1994. Stopped in 1997 after 20 issues, but has been revived shortly a few times since then.

The series loosely pays tribute to the American author Lyman Frank Baum's popular book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, but takes place in the present, where Earthlings Peter Ross, Mary Warren, Peter Stevens, and the dog Max suddenly finds themselves fighting in Oz that is now ruled by evil forces led by The Nome King. Some of the characters from the book such as Lion, Scarecrow, and Tin Man also appear.
