MAIN STORY
The series premiered in 1945.

The title character started as a wooden doll made by the toymaker Gepetto, but is now transformed into a live boy by magic. He is a goodnatured and rather gullible youngster, who is sometimes helped out of trouble by Jiminy Cricket, who acts as his conscience. Pinocchio's most noticeable trait is that his nose grows completely out of proportions when he tells a lie.
Much of his bad luck comes from the influence of two bad guys, who always manage to bring him into trouble. They are the sly and scheming fox Honest John W. Foulfellow and the sluggish sidekick cat Gideon.

The character originates from the 1940 animated Disney feature film by the same title.
