MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 2004. Stopped in 2006 after 13 issues.

This is a pocket-sized Manga series taking place at the fictitious Kabuchi Island supposedly situated southwest of the Japan isles. Here orphans are raised, but after leaving they start to mysteriously die at age 16. A group of the youngsters return to the island to find a possible connection. The most frequently occurring character is the 15-year old androgynous female Akira Okada.

The series' title is based on a 10th century Japanese legend which is known as Kaguyahime, who was a princess first discovered inside the stalk of a glowing bamboo plant.
