MAIN STORY
The series premiered in 1946.

The series feature the gentleman detective Rip Kirby and his manservant who live in an apartment in New York City. Kirby is a rather uncharacteristic detective; he is a playboy, wears glasses, smokes a pipe, plays chess, and plays classical music on his piano.
All the stories are filled with exact renderings of buildings, cars, fashion clothing, and ... beautiful ladies in distress.
