The series premiered in
1998.
May 'Mayday' Parker is the
secret identity of the superheroine Spider-girl.
She is the teenage daughter of the former high
school student Peter Parker, better known for his
starring role in Spider-man. In Spider-girl
he has retired.
From the age of 15 May began to develop the same
acrobatic and gravity-defying powers as her
father, so she decided to follow into her father's
footsteps as a crime-fighter.
This series comes from Marvel Comics
and must not be confused with the earlier series Spider
girl (no hyphen) from DC Comics. It was
later relaunched as The Amazing Spider-girl
followed by Spectacular Spider-girl.
