MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1949 in its own comic books*. It continued in its initial form until the 1980s, and is now continued irregularly in somewhat new contexts.

The title character is Clark Kent AKA Superman as a teenager, although there are some differences. Superboy lives in Smallville (not Metropolis), he attends school (he is not a reporter yet), and one of his recurring friends is Lana Lang, who, just as it is the case with the later Lois Lane, is very suspicious of his identity.
In the series we see much more of his foster parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent, where he lives, and the superpower tasks he undertakes is more down to earth(!).

* The series was invented in 1944.
