MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1952. Stopped in 1955 after 15 issues.

The stories feature U.S. leathernecks fighting in the Korean conflict. Some of the most often recurring characters are Bat and Spike as well as characters from Monty Hall.

The series' title is a catchphrase originally deriving from Britain's Royal Marines. The full text reads: 'Tell it to the marines because the sailors won't believe you' meaning that the messenger is not to be trusted.
