Name: DC (American comics corporation).
Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

Comments: The corporation's logo changed several times over the years. The selected one ran from 1976 to 2005.

 

 

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1973*. Stopped in 1975 after 12 issues, but has been revived a few times since then.

The starring character is a former World War 1 spy named Kent Allard, who has setled in New York City, where he acts as an avenger to criminals. In order to scare them he always performs wearing a dark slouch hat and a dark cloak with upturned collar. This, combined with a red scarf covering the lower part of his face, makes his facial features hard to see.

* The character as such premiered in 1930 in a radio series followed by a pulp magazine series from 1931.
