MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1975. Stopped in 1979 after 23 issues.

The starring character is named Shoeshine Boy because of his occupation, but he is better known as the superhero Underdog. When trouble calls he dresses in a phone booth just like Superman, but the difference is that the booth always explodes when Underdog leaves it.
He has incredible super powers when he takes his Underdog Super Energy Pill; unlimited strength, supersonic speed, super breath, X-ray vision, ultrasonic hearing, and much more.

The series is based on an animated cartoon TV series that ran from 1964 to 1973 (124 episodes).
