MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1996*. Stopped in 2012 after 144 issues, but has spawned several parallel series until now.

This manga series takes place in feudal Japan, where all the characters are anthropomorphic animals. The historically based series follows the adventures of Usagi Yojimbo (meaning Rabbit Bodyguard in English), who is a so-called Ronin, i.e. a Samurai with no master thus he is free to roam the countryside as he pleases.
